Puentes de Chulilla — Climbing Film Festival
A visual identity created for a place and community I have a personal connection to.
Puentes de Chulilla was a small climbing film festival organised in Chulilla, Spain.
A friend was involved in organising the festival, and when it needed a visual identity, I contributed through design. It was less a commercial assignment than a project that grew naturally out of my connection to climbing and the place itself.
The identity combines two elements closely associated with Chulilla: the suspension bridge and the climber. The aim was to create a mark that belonged specifically to the location rather than relying on a generic outdoor or climbing symbol. The resulting system included the main mark, horizontal and stacked lockups, typography and basic applications for digital communication and festival materials.
Today, my work has moved increasingly towards UX, digital products, technology and human-centred design, rather than visual identity as a standalone discipline. I keep this project in my portfolio because it represents an earlier part of that path — working with visual systems, reducing an idea to its essential elements and designing something that can remain recognisable across different contexts.
And, more simply, because some projects are worth doing for reasons beyond building a portfolio.
This was one of them.
